In my role as Digital Media Producer at the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children, I was responsible for the production of the Android versions of the ‘RIDBC Auslan Tutor’ app, including a ‘full’ paid version and a ‘light’ free version.
The RIDBC Auslan Tutor is a video-based Australian Sign Language (Auslan) teaching application. The app has been designed to assist families of young deaf children learn Auslan. More than 500 Auslan signs are included in the ‘full’ version.
For this project, I engaged volunteer developers from the software company Atlassian to assist with the development of the app. I also managed user testing of the app to ensure the UX was intuitive on the Android platform.
